Every a cappella group is on the lookout for strong soloists. In this session, learn how to make the most of your voice, creating a rich and powerful sound in a healthy and sustainable way.

SESSION TWO: MASTERCLASSES (12:00- 1:15)

Work with a skilled clinician on the performance areas that are most important to your group! Prepare a song or two to perform for your clinican and receive detailed feedback and suggestions to bring your performance to a higher level.

LUNCH BREAK IN THE CAFETERIA (1:15 - 1:45)

SESSION THREE (1:45 - 3:00)

Master Classes

and Workshops

The Association of Chelmsford a Cappella is please to offer master classes during our ACA-Pocalypse weekend!

Our master class and workshop offerings will be taught by The Noreasters, our headliner co-ed performing group from Northeastern University.

Please register today! Please consider joining us on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 at the Performing Arts Center at the Chelmsford High School. Classes will run from 10:00 through 3:00. Transportation is not included. Adult chaperones requested for all school age groups participating in the classes.

Here are some of the classes we hope to offer:

 

Arranging Workshop

So you want to arrange a song for your group but aren't sure how to go from idea to finished product? We will guide you through the process. Learn how to listen for various musical elements, how to choose syllables, and how to write in a way that highlights the strengths of your particular group.

Choreography Workshop

Choreographed movement is a big part of a cappella competition. In this session, learn how to choreograph movements that are expressive, effective, and appropriate. 

Vocal Perc Workshop

In this session, learn the basic elements of a percussion groove including kick, snare, and cymbal sounds. Beginners will leave this session able to execute a versatile pattern that can be adapted for most popular songs. More advanced vocal percussionists will learn how to create interesting fills and add unique sounds to their repertoire.

Please stay for the Saturday night performance, headlined by The Noreasters! As part of the master class and workshop program, we are offering heavily discounted tickets to participants. The price is just $10.00 per person. Please purchase these tickets when you register for the workshops by clicking the button below.

Concessions

Saturday Morning From 9:00 AM Until 3:00 PM and From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The ACA will offer concessions through the day including bagels, cookies, hot and cold drinks, chips, and candy. Concessions will close at 3:00 PM and reopen at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Lunch and Dinner is offered for all workshop participants.

We are also offering lunch and dinner for workshop participants. We are offering roast beef, turkey, or ham sandwiches (with or without cheese). Each sandwich comes with chips, water, and a cookie for $5.00.

We are also offering cheese pizza and salad for those workshop participants staying for the performances. The cost is $10.00 per pizza.

How can you make your student-led rehearsals effective and productive? Whether your group is student-directed or your teacher is out for the day, We will offer their best tips for running your best rehearsal yet.
